Another cool Flash animation this time with some crazy cats - the feline kind - singing along to The Vines.

Wacky Flash animation about a superhero with a soy sauce fish head. Very strange.

Very good Flash game in which you have to slingshot the penguin back to his spaceship.

Finally my video card breaks the 10,000 barrier! I downloaded the latest 40.72 drivers from NVIDIA on the weekend and installed them without any problems. First thing I did was fire up 3DMark2001 SE to see what score my GeForce4 Ti4400 could manage. This time I also shutdown some non-essential system services before starting. On the first run I was pleasantly surprised to get a result of 10,286. I was happy with that so haven't run any more tests since. All my previous scores have always been in the low 9,000s. The new drivers also clean up the layout of the display options and even add a few new options.

Panasonic 76cm TAU GIGA Widescreen TV

In preparation for our move - and losing access to Richard's television - we started looking at new television sets a while ago. We decided that we needed a flat, widescreen, 100Hz set and went out looking at quite a few demos and reading reviews. I love the Loewe and Grundig sets but they are too expensive. Was looking at LG for a while as one of the cheaper options then I read a few bad reviews. The new Sony sets look great and I thought maybe we would get a Sony. Then I found out that through work I can get Panasonic gear for near wholesale prices, so we set out to look at the Panasonic sets.

Quickly decided that the model with all the features we wanted was the TX-76PW50A, but I couldn't find much comment on this model. Turns out it is a fairly new model and is the update to the TX-76PW05A, which has had mixed reviews. Sounds like a few people had some problems but then there were lots of people who were really happy with it. I was hoping that the update fixed any problems that people had with the earlier model. I get the impression that generally people are very happy with Panasonic television sets. Unfortunately it is really hard to compare television sets at many department stores. They never have the right connections and have all the adjustments incorrect. Most of the Panasonic sets I saw didn't look great, but when you got one that was setup correctly it was perfect. Of course the other big factor was the price that I was able to get the thing for.

So we decided to go with the TX-76PW50A and I ordered it and was expecting about a 3 week wait but was pleasantly surprised when I received the set 3 days later. It's very heavy and took a lot of effort to get it home and into the apartment but it's there now and looking great. Of course we have only had it for a few days but I can't fault it. I can't wait to watch all our DVD movies again, which is exactly what we will be doing this weekend.

Moving

The big move last week went ok. It's always a hassle moving though. We spent many days packing, cleaning and unpacking. Used a removalist company this time to transport all the boxes and furniture but there was still a lot for us to do. We haven't finished unpacking yet but most of it is done. The new place is great and has everything we need. Still in Drummoyne in a nice street close to parks, buses and the ferry. Got our new fridge delivered the day we moved in. It is slowly filling up but I don't know how we will ever use its full capacity.

Lifted Kilts - 24 to 20

This was the last game of the season before the finals. Lifted Kilts are leading the competition and we are close behind although we haven't had a great season. Knew this was going to be a tough game and it definitely was. They got the early break and got a few points in front but we tightened our defense and managed to catch back up. At half time we were actually a couple of points in front. Prepared for a big fight from them in the second half we continued to play tight, strong netball and stretched our lead even further. Then we just had to keep playing the same for the rest of the game and whenever they tried to mount any sort of comeback we were ready and able to maintain the gap. It was a great effort and really nice to win. Things are looking good for the finals as we finished 1 point behind Lifted Kilts and go into the finals off of a couple of good wins.

Ibble Dibbles - 27 to 12

This week we managed to get a full team together and everybody was there on time. This was the best game we have played for a while. We dominated at both ends and easily controlled the ball down the centre. Working the ball around was great and we kept the mistakes to a minimum as well. As the score would suggest we kept the pressure on from start to finish and had a very enjoyable game.

Lifted Kilts - 10 to 27

Played Lifted Kilts in the rescheduled match tonight but only started with 6 players. We started ok but Bridget unfortunately rolled her ankle early in the game and was out for the rest of the match. We then had to play the rest of the game with 5 players and just couldn't contain their scoring nor get the ball down our end for much of the play.

One week into the new job and everything is going really well. A change is always as good as a holiday as they say and I am feeling a bit excited about the industry again. I started at a good time too just as the iLeo brand was being launched. We have a lot of really good clients and some of the projects are very interesting. No time to relax either as my first week was very hectic. As I said it is just the first week but it's looking really good.

Between Jobs

My week off between jobs is quickly coming to an end. Last week I finished at Dimension Data and next week I start my new job at Leo Burnett. Looking forward to a new challenge and doing some interesting things. Used this week to catch up on some jobs like car service and dentist. Also found some time to relax a bit and to play some BF1942. The other obvious thing that I've been doing is updating some projects. There's the new web site design and a new version of iWatch. Probably should spend the next couple of days packing as we move to our new place in a couple of weeks. Finally we have our own place and can start preparing properly for the arrival of bub.

New Site Structure

Another site redesign has been launched. Much cleaner with better information layout. The last iteration didn't really take advantage of our new server and domain name. This version removes most of the leftover pieces from the old server. There are still a few things that aren't complete but the bulk of the changes were ready so I have decided to launch it.

Titans 1 - 10 to 27

Played Titans tonight in the semi final that we nearly missed out on. Only had six players but we played hard and had a good game. We were never going to beat them but we put up a fight and had fun.

Horatio Horns - 34 to 30

Had a good win against Horatio Horns. We only had 5 players but they had too many guys so they lent one to us. Feels a bit strange using one of their players to help us beat them, but we get the points so we can celebrate.

Had a tough game on Sunday night. We were a bit undermanned and didn't have much chance.
